Ratheon

Ratheon sits on the edge of the Dillabusté cluster which is home to a major Elver Colony, but also has been contested by Adhilian forces since the fall of the Syndicate. The Remnance claims the world, but have been denied setting up bases there by Adilian aggression. As such it is home to a major Leveler presence.

History

Ratheon was once known as the Garden of the Dillabusté Cluster, providing food and other major goods to the worlds of its local cluster. As a part of the Fringe, it was tightly controlled by local Magistrates, who were heavily augmented to be able to use Xenharmonics. As a result, the cities were flying cities that patrolled the air, the irrigation was done by Xenharmonics, and the aristocrats lived in relative luxury, and the common peoples were also in luxury. However, within a week of the Syndics disappearance, the cities fell, the irrigation stopped, and the prosperity disappeared.

Due to the fact that the cities flew, they were instantly destroyed. The farming infrastructure was suddenly non-functional, there were mass deaths, and the world was gone. The place plunged into anarchy and small families and groups began to carve up the surface of the world, claiming the farmland not buried under shattered cities.

But one thing also became clear: Ratheon has one of the strongest Conductor bloodlines in the Myriad Worlds. Conductors appear to arise amongst the population faster than on any other world. And there is a huge wealth of Xenharmonic junk. Therefore, there is a massive trade in Syndic Scrap on the world.

The other major survivor of the Fall of Ratheon was its spaceports (hard to land on a flying city), and therefore, smugglers have been landing on the world almost constantly. Remnance forces attempted to clear them out, but with so many ports, and so little ability to keep their forces in place, they have almost given up. As such the Averlini Mercantile Group and the Levelers both use the planet as a trade hub and smuggler port.

Description

Filled with Syndic tech scrap. Unaligned world home to smuggling dens and space ports. A weak-signal world and one of the hubs of lawlessness on the edge of the Myriad - people, goods and information of the clandestine variety tend to flow through here.

The planet is on the edge of the Myriad, but the Dillabusté Cluster has a high population of Elvers, including one of their Vacation Suns. The Adhilian also have several major colonies in the area. Both species want to claim the Cluster, and therefore there's a fair amount of actual combat. Ratheon is very low priority for the conflict, so it is generally untouched, but it means no one is uplifting the peoples either.

Factions

The Malmignatti Cluster uses the planet to strengthen the Conductor in their bloodlines, and recruit fresh DNA.

The Solar Creed has almost no influence there due to the fact that power is either abundant in the form of Xenharmonics, or completely useless.

The Levelers use the planet to hole up, and has a strong presence in the south pole.

The Averlini Mercantile Group use the planet as a trade hub, and have an experimental farm on the equator. It is the only known place one can grow a Granberry Pepper.

The Concord is constantly attempting to get a foothold on the planet, but their attempts to build a base are thwarted by the Remnance.

Major Exports

Granberry Pepper - primarily farmed by Towsers due to their fur keeping out the incredibly painful thorns on the vines, which have a 750,000 scoville oil in the pepper and vine.

Xenharmonic Garbage - Most of the good stuff has been scavenged, but very skilled scavengers are still making very good finds.
